What to Expect
Starting psychiatric care can bring up a lot of questions, especially if it's your first time. At Gather & Grove, the process is designed to be straightforward, welcoming, and centered around you.

Whether you're seeking care for the first time or looking for a fresh perspective, here's what you can expect along the way.

The Process
01.
Schedule a Session
Getting started is simple. Appointments are scheduled through Grow Therapy, our online scheduling and patient management platform.

You'll be guided through selecting an available appointment, providing your insurance and billing information, and completing the necessary intake paperwork and any applicable screening questionnaires.

These forms help me learn more about your medical and mental health history, current medications, symptoms, and what brings you to care. Completing them beforehand allows us to spend more of our time together focusing on your concerns, questions, and goals.

Please complete all required forms before your scheduled appointment to help avoid delays in care.
02.
Initial Visit
Appointment Length: Approximately 60 Minutes

Your first appointment is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin understanding what you've been experiencing.

I'll guide our conversation through questions about your symptoms, medical and psychiatric history, previous treatments, and how things have been affecting your everyday life.

While the evaluation follows a structured approach, there will be opportunities to share your experiences, ask questions, and discuss what's important to you.

You don't need to have everything figured out or know exactly how to explain what you're feeling. That's part of what we're here to work through together.

We'll review my clinical impressions and discuss possible next steps, including treatment options and whether medication may be appropriate. Sometimes additional information or assessment is needed before making a diagnosis or treatment recommendation.

03.
Follow-Ups & Ongoing Care
Appointment Length: Approximately 30 Minutes

Psychiatric care is an ongoing process, and treatment may evolve as we learn more about what works for you.
Follow-up appointments give us an opportunity to check in on your symptoms, discuss changes in your daily life, and evaluate how you're responding to treatment.

If medication is part of your care, we'll review its effectiveness, potential side effects, and whether adjustments may be helpful. We'll also consider other factors that may be influencing your mental health and overall well-being.

The frequency of appointments will depend on your individual needs, treatment plan, and clinical circumstances.

My goal is for you to feel informed, involved, and comfortable sharing what's working and what isn't.
Appointment durations are approximate. More or less time may be needed depending on the complexity of your concerns and the information necessary for a thorough clinical assessment and appropriate treatment planning. Additional appointments may be recommended when further assessment is needed.
Virtual Appointments
Gather & Grove provides outpatient psychiatric evaluation and medication management through secure telehealth appointments for adults ages 18 and older located in Ohio.

Appointments are conducted through Grow Therapy's integrated, HIPAA-compliant video platform, allowing you to connect directly through your patient portal without needing a separate video conferencing service.

You can access Grow Therapy through its website or mobile app, where available. Your patient portal provides a convenient place to manage appointments, complete forms, join video sessions, and communicate securely with your provider.

Before your appointment, please ensure you have a reliable internet connection, a device with video and audio capabilities, and a quiet, private location where you feel comfortable speaking openly.
Insurance, Billing & Payments
Scheduling, insurance information, and payment processing are managed through Grow Therapy.

Depending on your insurance coverage, you may be responsible for a copayment, coinsurance, deductible, or self-pay fee. Coverage and benefits vary by plan, and insurance acceptance does not guarantee coverage for every service.
